Our interactive classes are all held LIVE via Zoom, and you can interact and ask questions – just like being in a classroom!
When you choose online tutoring, you’ll have the same level of support you receive when you receive face to face tutoring, plus more. With our small group online tutoring, you can study at your own pace, in your own time, without ever leaving your comfort space.
You’ll get access to a huge range of online resources, including video summaries, quizzes and notes mapped to the Australian Curriculum.
Online tutoring is ideal for high school students who do not have the time to travel to a tutor, and for primary school students who prefer to learn from their home environment after a long day at school.
What Does an Online Tutoring Session Look Like?
In our virtual classrooms, you will receive high-quality teaching in live stream classes, with notes and worked examples. Senior lessons typically start with a revision quiz from the previous week, and you can ask questions in class either directly or through the chat during the class. If you have additional questions after class you can request a private online lesson to ensure there are no gaps in your understanding.
All online tutoring is mapped to the Australian curriculum so students learn the content they will need for their next week at school.
We also offer school based online tutoring lessons so your tutor will go through the same topic you’re going through at school or prepare you for any upcoming school assessments. Remember, because it’s a school based lesson so you will also benefit from all the questions your friends from school ask!
We use a popular online video conferencing system called ‘Zoom’. All you need is a laptop or computer with an internet connection, audio and camera. It works on Windows, Mac, iPads and smartphones.
Before each lesson starts, you will receive a link, simply click the link and you’ll join the lesson. Inside you’ll see awesome features such as:
- A live whiteboard where your child can solve problems alongside their tutor.
- Click a button asking the teacher to ‘speed up’ or ‘slow down’ without interrupting the lesson.
- Screen share so the tutor can show you diagrams or how they are solving problems.
- Chat and share files with their tutor or the class.
- Create a breakout room where you or your child can chat with the tutor in private.
With the advancements in technology, we have found there is nothing you can’t do in an online tutoring lesson. Our parents love it because it eliminates dropping off and picking up students after school. It’s been great for our students who are visual learners. We’re able to immediately share our screen to show diagrams, graphs and videos to help your child grasp concepts and sharing extra resources is also quick and easy.
All of our sessions are live and very interactive.
