What does online tutoring entail?

Ultimately, there is a shift from face to face tutoring in a classroom setting to tutoring online via interactive and digital means. Students and tutors join a lesson through live video communication software such as Zoom and tackle classes safely and conveniently.

What are the benefits of online tutoring?

  • You won’t have to miss out on class.

Most tutoring centres engage in face to face learning only, which can be disadvantageous to students who have to miss out on a class because either the student or the tutor is unwell. Particularly in these times, there is a significant emphasis on maintaining all individuals’ safety and well-being. Online tutoring helps us do this!

We do not have to cancel or postpone classes if one party is sick. We can schedule the class online and not impede on safety.

  • Schedule classes outside of trading hours

Operating hours at the centre are Monday to Thursday 4:45 – 9 pm, and Saturday from 10 am – 2:15 pm. However, online tutoring has no time constraints as you can schedule classes outside of our trading hours that best suit you and the tutor.

This allows students to receive extra help when it is required as soon as possible

or reschedule missed classes at more suitable times that fit into their busy schedules.

  • Sharing resources

Online tutoring has opened a door of communication that is much more convenient for all individuals. Sharing resources has never been easier, with the click of a button, tutors can share powerpoints, worksheets, notes and extra resources.

  • Interactive Learning

Using online tutoring is advantageous as it allows tutors to use more interactive and innovative teaching methods in their lessons. Tutors can share YouTube videos on their screen to make it easier for their students to understand difficult concepts. It proves to be beneficial, particularly to our vidual learners as there is increased use of colours and diagrams that help them learn, which is the ultimate goal in our lessons.

  • The comfort of your own home

Tutoring classes traditionally occur at the centre; however, online learning has been necessary to protect our well-being with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Online tutoring provides easier accessibility to classes from the comfort of your own home and eliminated parents having to drop off/pick up their child from the tutoring centre. This has also allowed classes to become available to more students, without compromising quality.

  • Same Quality Teaching

Despite lessons moving online, it does not mean that the quality of teaching is compromised. Tutors have researched and tested the most effective ways to teach a class to ensure it meets and exceeds the same standards set in a face to face class. Our live online classes allow tutors to ensure that all students learn in the best possible manner and tailor the class to suit all needs.
